The Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at Baku State University (BSU) comprises seven departments: Mathematical Analysis and Function Theory, Differential Equations and Control Theory, Algebra and Geometry, Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Modeling, Mechanics, Higher Mathematics, and Methods of Teaching Mathematics.

The departments conduct research across a wide range of scientific fields. Undergraduate students have the opportunity to engage in research activities from their second year of study.

At the undergraduate level, the Faculty trains specialists in three programs: Mathematics, Teaching Mathematics, and Mechanics.
