BSU Graduate and Nobel Peace Prize Winner Meets with BSU Students
A meeting was held at Baku State University (BSU) with Bakhtiyar Sirajov, a graduate of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics and Nobel Peace Prize laureate.
The event, attended by BSU Vice-Rector Huseyn Mammadov, Dean Alakbar Aliyev, and faculty members, highlighted Sirajov’s career at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and his contribution to global peace efforts.
Sharing his experiences, Sirajov spoke about his student years at BSU, his professional path at the IAEA, and the importance of youth involvement in science. He expressed gratitude to his professors and pride in BSU graduates working at leading international institutions.
It was noted that Sirajov, along with other IAEA employees, received the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize for promoting the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
