BSU Graduate to Pursue Master’s Degree at Top South Korean University
Shahla Gamidova, a graduate of the Biology Department at Baku State University (BSU), has been admitted to the prestigious Korea University in South Korea to pursue her master’s degree in Public Health (Public Health and Social Epidemiology).
She won this opportunity through the highly competitive Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) program, an international full scholarship funded by the Republic of Korea. Out of more than a hundred applicants, only five students, including Shahla, were selected.
The GKS program fully covers tuition fees for four semesters, provides a monthly stipend of approximately 1,260 manat, as well as health insurance, transportation costs, and visa support.
Korea University currently ranks 61st globally in the QS World University Rankings 2026.
Shahla Gamidova graduated from BSU with a GPA of 92.32 and is proficient in both English and Korean at the C1 level.
