A delegation headed by the rector of Hacettepe University in Türkiye, Mehmet Cahit Güran, has visited Baku State University.

During the meeting with the delegation, BSU Rector Elchin Babayev, informed the guests about the teaching, research activities, and international relations of the university. Elchin Babayev noted that BSU collaborates with prestigious universities in fraternal Türkiye. The rector of BSU mentioned that there are opportunities for cooperation with Hacettepe University within the framework of double degree programs and Erasmus.

The rector of Hacettepe University, Mehmet Cahit Güran, emphasized that integration with Azerbaijan's largest university would benefit both institutions. The guest highlighted that the university he leads, which employs over 3,700 academic staff and educates more than 53,000 students, is one of the most prestigious universities in Türkiye.

Subsequently, a memorandum of understanding was signed between BSU and Hacettepe University.
