BSU Holds Awareness Session Marking World Heart Day
Baku State University (BSU) held an awareness session on September 29 to mark World Heart Day.
The session aimed to raise students’ awareness of the importance of maintaining heart health, the basic principles of first aid, and appropriate responses in emergency situations.
The event highlighted that cardiovascular diseases are among the leading causes of death both globally and in Azerbaijan. In this regard, promoting a healthy lifestyle was emphasized as one of the most effective ways to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases, heart attacks, and strokes.
Participants received both theoretical and practical information on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). During the training sessions led by instructors Ali Huseynli and Hajjar Aliyeva, students had the opportunity to put their knowledge of CPR and first aid into practice. They learned how to properly assess emergency situations, make quick decisions, and provide appropriate first aid.
The session concluded with a question-and-answer session, during which the trainers responded to students’ questions.
