BSU Holds Information Session on “4SI Academy – National Programme”
An information session was held for students of Baku State University (BSU) as part of the “4SI Academy – National Programme.”
Khayala Fatullayeva, Head of the Digital Economy Department of the 4SI project, noted that the programme is designed to develop knowledge and skills in the field of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), build competitive human capital, and support the development of the digital economy.
It was noted that, under the National Programme, participants have access to more than 21,000 courses offered by around 400 leading universities and technology companies worldwide through the Coursera platform. The programme enables participants to develop their knowledge and skills across a wide range of fields and earn international certificates upon successful completion of courses.
BSU Vice-Rector Huseyn Mammadov noted that the university had actively participated in the previous stage of the programme. From April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, a total of 1,835 BSU students and 139 staff members participated in the programme. During this period, BSU students successfully completed 3,057 courses, while university staff completed 387 courses.
He emphasized that cooperation under the Memorandum of Understanding signed between BSU and the 4SIM last year is helping expand opportunities for students and staff to acquire up-to-date knowledge and skills.
During the session, students were informed about the objectives and opportunities offered by the programme, key course areas, training programmes available in Azerbaijani, access to courses in offline mode, the AI-powered “Coursera AI Assistant” feature, the Digital Badges system, as well as the participation and registration requirements for the current stage of the programme.
The event concluded with a question-and-answer session, during which students received answers to their questions about the programme.
