A regular meeting was held at Baku State University as part of the project Political Legacy and Views on Statehood of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, dedicated to June 15 – National Salvation Day.

Speaking at the event, BSU Vice-Rector Shahin Panahov emphasized the significance of National Salvation Day in Azerbaijan’s history, particularly in safeguarding the country’s independence, ensuring political stability, and strengthening statehood traditions. He highlighted the contributions of Heydar Aliyev to the development of Azerbaijani statehood, the formulation of domestic and foreign policy based on national interests, the enhancement of the country’s international standing, and the determination of its long-term development strategy.

Panahov also underlined the importance of such projects in strengthening historical memory among young people, fostering patriotism, and encouraging a deeper study of statehood traditions.

During the meeting, State Counselor (1st degree), Doctor of Historical Sciences, and Professor Dilara Seyidzade delivered a report titled From National Salvation to the Pinnacle of Statehood: The Formation of Heydar Aliyev's Political Activity. She discussed Heydar Aliyev’s political career across different periods, his extensive experience in public administration, and his role in the formation of the modern Azerbaijani state.

The event concluded with interactive discussions during which students and other participants asked questions and exchanged views on the topic.
