A training session titled “Artificial Intelligence as a Teaching Assistant” was held at the Azerbaijan-Korea Computer Science Centre of Baku State University (BSU).

The session brought together BSU faculty members and instructors from the university’s College of Economics and Humanities. Instructors from BSU’s Gazakh Branch also joined the training online.

Ismail Zeynalov, Director of the Centre, spoke about the opportunities and limitations of artificial intelligence in education. Using examples of weak and effective prompts, he explained the formula “Role + Task + Context + Format” as a framework for formulating clear and effective instructions for AI tools.

The training covered the use of AI to prepare lesson plans and lecture notes, explain topics through real-life examples, adapt complex material to students’ levels, and develop multiple-choice tests, scenario-based assignments, and assessment criteria.

Participants also discussed students’ use of AI, methods for identifying AI-generated work, the reliability of AI detection tools, and ways to design assignments that cannot be completed simply by reproducing ready-made answers. Particular attention was paid to the responsible use of AI, including the risks of inaccurate information and fabricated sources, the importance of fact-checking, and the protection of student data.
