Baku State University (BSU) has held a training session entitled “Digital Skills and Digital Workplace Culture” to enhance employees’ digital competencies and promote the effective use of electronic systems.

During the session, Shabnam Mammadova, Head of BSU’s Digitalisation and Information Security Department, discussed the development of a digital workplace culture, the optimisation of daily work processes, proper data management and the principles of working with electronic documents. Particular attention was given to the use of the AzDOC electronic document management system implemented at the university, including document registration, routing to relevant departments, approval, electronic signing, tracking of execution status and archiving.

The training was organised in an interactive format, allowing participants to share challenges encountered in their day-to-day use of the electronic document management system and exchange views on existing issues. Employees’ questions were addressed, and proposals to improve workflows and facilitate the use of the system were discussed.

The session also covered the centralised management of information, the effective use of Microsoft Excel and the application of optical character recognition (OCR) technology to extract text from scanned documents.

It was emphasised that the primary objective of digitalisation is to simplify workflows, reduce repetitive tasks and improve management efficiency.
