BSU hosts 8th International Conference on "Modern Trends in Physics"
Baku State University (BSU) has hosted the 8th International Scientific Conference on "Modern Trends in Physics", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev. The event was organized in collaboration with BSU, the National Institute of Nuclear Physics in Italy, the University of Delaware in the USA, Lahore University, and COMSATS Islamabad University in Pakistan, as well as Ankara University, Middle East Technical University, Gazi University, and Sivas University in Türkiye.
BSU Rector Elchin Babayev made an opening speech. The rector noted that the conference has been held every two years since 2009. Starting from 2017, the conference proceedings have been indexed in the Web of Science database. This year, representatives from 25 countries participated in the conference, featuring a program that included 149 presentations.
Various speakers addressed the event, including Jafar Jafarov, Rector of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University; Anar Nagiyev, Rector of Baku Slavic University; Arif Gashimov, the Director-General of the Institute of Physics; Sakin Jabbarov, the Deputy Chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission; Amirullah Mamedov, a professor from Bilkent University; Stefano Bellucci, Head of NEXT Nanotechnology Lab. INFN-Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati in Italy; Irada Guseynova, the Director-General of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology; Evgeny Yakushev, the Head of the Laboratory on Nuclear problems at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Russia; Iman Askerzade, a professor from Ankara University; Tahmasib Aliyev, a professor from the Middle East Technical University; Yadranka Blaevska, a professor from the Macedonian Institute of Cyril and Methodius; and Atilla Akdeniz, the Dean of the Pharmaceutical Faculty at Instinye University.
Muhammad Ashraf, Rector of Lahore University; Alim Yıldız, Rector of Sivas Republican University; Natig Ibragimov Rector of Lankaran State University, Sajid Gamar, Rector of COMSATS Islamabad University, Professor Ismet Shah of the University of Delaware, Professor Suleyman Ozçelik of Gazi University, and Vice-Rector Mustafa Fener of Ankara University addressed the conference participants with online and video greetings.
The conference continued its proceedings in five sections.
