BSU Hosts Anniversary Evening Honouring Composer Fikret Alizade
Baku State University (BSU) hosted an anniversary evening titled “Symphony of the Heart” marking the 75th birthday of renowned composer and Associate Professor at the Department of Azerbaijani Linguistics Fikret Alizade. The programme featured performances of the composer’s works by prominent Azerbaijani artists.
The evening opened with a video presentation highlighting Alizade’s life and creative career. Academician Nizami Jafarov, Head of the Department of General Linguistics at BSU, then shared his memories of the composer. In his remarks, he spoke about Alizade’s academic and teaching career as well as his artistic achievements, describing him as a professional with strong academic potential and a distinctive creative style.
Member of the Milli Majlis Fazil Mustafa and Firidun Gurbansoy, Head of the Department at the Azerbaijan National Conservatory, also congratulated the composer and wished him continued success.
The event continued with a vibrant artistic programme featuring performances by People’s Artist Azer Zeynalov, Mugham International Centre soloist Miralam Miralamov, singer Rasima Babayeva, and Sona Narimangyzy, a staff member of the BSU Faculty of Physics. The programme also included performances by Konul Huseynova, Raksana Asadova and Parviz Aghayev, soloists of the university’s Culture and Creativity Centre.
