BSU Hosts Astronomy Observation Day

Baku State University (BSU) held an Astronomy Observation Day, organized by the university’s Center for Student Scientific and Technical Creativity.

The event brought together faculty members and students from various departments who gathered to explore the wonders of the night sky.

The program began with a talk by Associate Professor Khydyr Mikayilov from the Department of Astrophysics at the Faculty of Physics. He introduced participants to the basics of telescope operation and explained the structure and function of astronomical telescopes.

Following the lecture, students had the opportunity to observe the Moon through a telescope, experiencing firsthand the excitement of astronomical observation.

Faig Nagiyev, Head of the Astronomy Club under the Center for Student Scientific and Technical Creativity and Chairman of the Society of Amateur Astronomers, also addressed the students. He spoke about the club’s activities and encouraged students to join and take part in future astronomical events. astronomical events.
