BSU Hosts Chinese Spring Festival
The Confucius Institute at Baku State University (BSU) organized a celebration of the Chinese Spring Festival.
The event was attended by BSU Vice-Rector Shahin Panahov, Chargé d'Affaires of China in Azerbaijan Ding Tao, Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Aydan Khandan, Director of the Confucius Institute at BSU Wang Haoqiang, as well as other guests.
In his opening remarks, Vice-Rector Shahin Panahov spoke about the strengthening relations between the People’s Republic of China and Azerbaijan, with particular emphasis on cooperation between BSU and Chinese universities. He also provided information on the number of Chinese students studying at the university and highlighted their academic achievements.
Chargé d'Affaires of China in Azerbaijan Ding Tao noted that the Chinese Spring Festival is one of the most important national holidays for the Chinese people and emphasized its significance as an integral part of Chinese culture.
The event continued with a vibrant cultural program prepared with the participation of faculty members and students from the Confucius Institute and the Faculty of Oriental Studies at BSU. The festival featured performances of traditional Chinese music and dance, and a raffle was also held for participants.
