To mark the 115th anniversary of Azerbaijani academician Hasan Aliyev, the conference entitled “Ecology: problems of nature and society” started at Baku State University on December 19, 2022.

Huseyn Mammadov, BSU Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation spoke about the life and scientific work of Academician Hasan Aliyev.  He noted that Hasan Aliyev’s main scientific work covers the theory of soil science, ecology, botany, plant growing, problems of conservation and more efficient use of natural resources and natural conditions, in general, various fields of natural science. Hasan Aliyev was the author of about 800 scientific papers, including about 200 popular science articles, co-author and editor of more than 50 maps.

Dean of the Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science of BSU Akif Agbabali, Head of the Department of Soil Science and Real Estate Cadastre of BSU Garib Mammadov, Director General of the Institute of Geography named after academician Hasan Aliyev Zakir Eminov, Head of the Department of Ecogeography Anvar Aliyev, Head of the Department of Geography of Soil Resources of Azerbaijan Ismail Guliyev, Head of the Department of Ecological Chemistry of BSU Sevinj Hajiyeva made speech at the event.

The two-day conference continued its work with section meetings.
