Baku State University (BSU) is hosting a Republican scientific conference titled “Creativity and the Creator”, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of People's Poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzade.

Opening the event, BSU Rector Elchin Babayev highlighted the significance of President Ilham Aliyev’s decree on celebrating the poet’s centenary. He emphasized Vahabzade’s exceptional contributions to Azerbaijani literature, public life, and education, noting his long-standing academic career at BSU as a lecturer, associate professor, and professor of Azerbaijani literature. The rector added that Vahabzade inspired generations of students with his dedication to national thought, language, and literature.

Speakers included Nizami Jafarov, Full Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan; Professor Gazanfar Pashayev; Jalil Nagiyev, Head of the World Literature Department; Elchin Mammadov, Dean of the Philology Faculty; and poet Geshem Najafzade. Additional presentations were delivered by Professor Vagif Verdiyev and Associate Professor Etibar Talibli.

The conference continued with thematic breakout sessions.
