Baku State University (BSU), in collaboration with the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), hosted a conference titled “Political Legacy of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev: Foundations of a Powerful State”, marking the 102nd anniversary of Heydar Aliyev’s birth and the Year of Constitution and Sovereignty.

Participants paid tribute to the National Leader by visiting his bust, the Heydar Aliyev Museum, and Auditorium at BSU. A video presentation on his life preceded the official proceedings.

In his speech, BSU Rector Elchin Babayev emphasized the symbolic significance of the event, aligning with the 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s first Constitution and the fifth anniversary of the country’s historic Victory. He highlighted Heydar Aliyev’s foundational role in shaping modern Azerbaijan, initiating economic and cultural development, and securing the nation’s independence and sovereignty.

Rector Babayev praised President Ilham Aliyev’s continuation of this legacy, noting his achievements in strengthening statehood and restoring territorial integrity. He also shared that 102 BSU staff members and over 100 students joined the NAP on this occasion.

NAP Deputy Chairman Tahir Budagov emphasized Heydar Aliyev’s lasting contributions to Azerbaijani statehood and international standing, stating that his political legacy, carried forward by President Ilham Aliyev, has positioned Azerbaijan among the world’s leading nations.
