Baku State University (BSU) recently hosted an International Scientific Conference on the theme 'Modern Trends in Legal Science and Education,' dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev and the 95th anniversary of the Law Faculty. The Rector of BSU, Elchin Babayev, inaugurated the event with an opening speech, emphasizing that the national leader Heydar Aliyev has left a legacy in the annals of statehood that requires comprehensive study, research, and promotion. Babayev affirmed that BSU considers the study and popularization of the great leader's legacy as one of its highest tasks, faithfully fulfilling its mission in implementing the doctrine of the development of Heydar Aliyev and enhancing the power of our country.

During the conference, notable speeches were delivered by the Dean of the Faculty, Zaur Aliyev; Chairman of the Supreme Court, Inam Kerimov; Prosecutor General, Kamran Aliyev; First Deputy Chairman of the Milli Majlis, Ali Huseynli; Deputy Minister of Justice, Vilayat Zakiyev; Judge of the European Court of Human Rights, Latif Huseynov; UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan, Vladanka Andreeva, and Head of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Masuma Melikova.
