BSU Hosts “Cultural Heritage” Event
As part of the events dedicated to March 27 – Science Day, the Faculty of Information and Document Management at Baku State University (BSU) organized an event titled “Cultural Heritage.”
Nadir Ismailov, Head of the Department of Document Management, delivered a presentation highlighting the strategic importance of preserving and studying cultural heritage. He noted that cultural heritage represents not only historical and cultural value, but also a significant field of scientific research and an important information resource. Ismailov emphasized that documents preserved in archives, libraries, and museum collections play a vital role in the study of cultural heritage and its transmission to future generations. He also underlined the importance of digitization in safeguarding and effectively utilizing cultural heritage resources.
The event aimed to familiarize students with both the tangible and intangible components of cultural heritage, introduce them to the country’s rich historical and cultural legacy, and demonstrate the role of documentary resources in its preservation.
Ainur Aleskerova, Chair of the Faculty’s Student Scientific Society, noted that such initiatives contribute to the development of students’ scientific outlook, strengthen their sense of responsibility toward cultural heritage, and promote the application of scientific approaches in their future professional activities.
