The Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Azerbaijan held the 2017 K-POP World Festival at BSU in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the two countries' diplomatic relations. Besides the Korean Embassy, the organizers of the festival are BSU and Korea - Fans Azerbaijan–HANSAMO. After evaluating the applicants, 12 teams were elected to perform at the event.

The ambassador thanked the rector of Baku State University for supporting of  the festival, and awarded academician Abel Maharramov with a letter of appreciation "For contribution to the development of relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Korea".
