BSU hosts international seminar dedicated to World Science Day

Baku State University has hosted an international seminar dedicated to the World Science Day. Established by UNESCO in 2001, the World Science Day for Peace and Development is celebrated on 10 November each year. The event was attended by faculty members, Master’s degree students, PhD students and young researchers of BSU, Lankaran State University and Mingachevir State University.

BSU Rector Elchin Babayev congratulated the participants on occasion of the of World Science Day.  He noted that the theme of this year’s World Science Day was “Building communities ready for climate change”. “BSU plays an important role in the development of science and education in our country. Structural reforms are also progressing at BSU. The number of the scientific articles published by Web of Science indexed journals has increased in recent years. According to Clarivate Analytics, BSU faculty members, doctoral students and students have already published 3334 scientific papers in the Web of Science indexed journals”, said Elchin Babayev.

BSU Vice-rector Farda Imanov, Director of the Institute of Geography of ANAS Zakir Eminov, Professor of the Bilkent University Amirullah Mamedov, Senior Researcher of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research of the Russian Federation Faig Akhmedov and Professor of the Department of Organic Chemistry of the Faculty of Chemistry Ulviya Hasanova made presentations at the seminar.
