A meeting on “The National Security Strategy of National Leader Heydar Aliyev” was held at Baku State University (BSU) with the participation of Professor Vugar Mammadzade of the National Defense University.

The speaker highlighted that the foundations of Azerbaijan’s national security system were established under the leadership of Heydar Aliyev, emphasizing key milestones such as the adoption of the 1995 Constitution, which secured state sovereignty, territorial integrity, and citizens’ safety. He also noted the strengthening of key institutions, including law enforcement bodies and border security structures.

Professor Mammadzade underlined that the national security strategy was further developed by President Ilham Aliyev, with important documents such as the National Security Concept (2004) and the National Security Strategy (2007) defining the country’s security priorities across political, military, economic, and information spheres.
