BSU Hosts Meeting with Head of Azerbaijani Multiculturalism Center at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University
Baku State University (BSU) hosted an online meeting with Ludmila Bejenaru, Chairperson of the Center for Azerbaijani Multiculturalism at the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Romania.
During the meeting, Dean of the Faculty, Afet Mammadova, spoke in detail about the significance of the Baku International Center for Multiculturalism and its vital role in promoting the values of multiculturalism. She highlighted the consistent and purposeful efforts led by the Center for Azerbaijani Multiculturalism, initiated under the vision of President Ilham Aliyev, to present Azerbaijan as a global center of multiculturalism.
Ludmila Bejenaru then delivered a detailed report on the work of the Center she leads. She emphasized the strong and friendly ties between Romania and Azerbaijan, as well as their growing economic partnership. She noted that bilateral relations were significantly strengthened following the election of national leader Heydar Aliyev as President in 1993.
Bejenaru provided insights into the teaching of “Azerbaijani Multiculturalism” at the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, where students are introduced to Azerbaijan's cultural heritage, including historical landmarks and tangible cultural elements listed by UNESCO. She also highlighted the Center's involvement in organizing events dedicated to the martyrs of Karabakh, and efforts aimed at informing the international community about the realities of Western Azerbaijan.
The meeting underscored the shared commitment to promoting multicultural values and strengthening academic ties between the two institutions.
