A meeting took place between representatives of Baku State University (BSU) and The International Ranking Agency Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).

The meeting was attended by BSU Rector Elchin Babayev, Director of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education under the Ministry of Science and Education Ulker Sattarova, QS General Vice President Ben Sowter, Director of Analytics and Assessment Lee Camolins, and Regional Director Sergey Khristolyubov.

Rector Elchin Babayev shared detailed information with the guests about the achievements of BSU in teaching, research, and internationalization over recent years.

QS General Vice President Ben Sowter congratulated BSU on advancing over 345 positions in the QS Sustainability Ranking 2025, securing a place in the 941-950 range and becoming the only university in Azerbaijan to rank in the TOP-1000.

During the meeting, the rector's advisor, Asiman Ilyasov, delivered a presentation highlighting the efforts made toward improving rankings and the successes achieved in recent years.

Following the presentations, representatives of the ranking agency addressed questions from BSU attendees.
