BSU Hosts Next Meeting of the “Urban Talks” Project
A meeting on “Sustainable Urban Tourism Models and Their Integration into Small Historical Cities of Azerbaijan” was held at Baku State University (BSU) within the framework of the “Urban Talks” project organized by the “BSU Volunteers” organization.
Head of the project Mirhuseyn Tagiyev noted that the event was the fourth meeting in the series and focused on key issues such as environmental sustainability, social impact, and the preservation of cultural heritage in tourism development.
Senior Lecturer Vugar Dergahov delivered a presentation on sustainable urban tourism, highlighting core principles including environmental protection, transport optimization, expansion of green areas, community development, and inclusive growth. The discussion also addressed the integration of urban planning and tourism services, support for local businesses, smart tourism technologies, and international best practices for small historical settlements in Azerbaijan.
The “Urban Talks” project serves as an interactive platform for students to discuss urban planning and sustainable development.
