Baku State University (BSU) hosted a republican scientific conference titled “Study of the Earth’s Interior and Forecasting of Mineral Resources”, dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s birth.

Opening the event, Dean of the Faculty of Geology, Professor Mama Mansurov, emphasized Heydar Aliyev’s lasting contributions to Azerbaijani science, particularly in geology, seismology, and the development of mineral and energy resources. He highlighted the “Contract of the Century” as a pivotal moment in the country’s resource independence.

Milli Majlis deputy Aydin Huseynov noted that the National Leader’s reforms in higher education and scientific training placed BSU at the center of Azerbaijan’s intellectual and strategic development, stressing that resource management was viewed as a matter of national security.

Academician Vasif Babazade underscored the continued relevance of Heydar Aliyev’s strategy in geology and natural resource use. The conference concluded with scientific presentations by faculty experts on seismology and historical geology.
