BSU hosts scientific seminar entitled “Turkology in Italy”
Baku State University (BSU) has hosted a scientific seminar on the topic "Turkology in Italy". The seminar was organized by the Research Laboratory "Turkology Research" at the Department of the Turkic Studies of the Faculty of Philology.
The seminar was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the discovery by the Italians of the second manuscript (Vatican copy) of the epos "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud". The discovery of the Vatican copy of the epos "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud" by the Italian Turkologist Ettore Rossi in 1952 was a great event in the Turkological world.
The laboratory researcher Parvin Eyvazov made presentation on the history of Italian Turkology. Parvin Eyvazov spoke about Andrea Dandolo, Filippo Argenti, Pietro Ferraguto, Giovanni Battista Donado, Giambattista Toderini, who were the authors of the first studies on the Turks in Europe. The speaker also spoke about the activities of prominent representatives of modern Italian Turkology Luigi Bonelli, Ettore Rossi, Alessio Bombachi, Aldo Gallotta, Anna Masala and other scientists.
