BSU Hosts Scientific Seminar with George Washington University Professor

Baku State University (BSU) hosted a scientific seminar titled “Computing Technologies and the Future of Engineering: From High-Performance Computing to Artificial Intelligence”. The event was organized on the initiative of ADA University and featured Professor Tarek El Ghazawi, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering at George Washington University and a renowned expert in high-performance computing.

Opening the seminar, Afsana Surkhayli, Head of the Intellectual Property Protection Department at BSU’s Center for Organization of Scientific Activities and Innovations, emphasized the importance of the event.

In his keynote address, Professor El Ghazawi shared his insights on the future of computing technologies and engineering. He provided students with in-depth information about the evolving transition from high-performance computing (HPC) systems to artificial intelligence (AI).

Following his presentation, Gunel Mukhtarova, Admissions Advisor at ADA University, gave an overview of the dual-degree programs jointly offered by ADA University and George Washington University. She noted that programs in electrical and power engineering, computer science and data analysis, computer engineering, and high-performance computing systems are fully funded under the State Program of Azerbaijan, creating extensive opportunities for students.

The seminar concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session for students.
