BSU Hosts Seminar on Antioxidant Enzymes in Wheat Genotypes
Baku State University (BSU) recently hosted a scientific seminar titled "The Effect of Metal Oxide Nanoparticles on the Activity of Antioxidant Enzymes in the Leaves of Wheat Genotypes." The seminar was presented by Gunel Ismayilova, a PhD student from the Faculty of Biology at BSU.
During the seminar, Ismayilova discussed how metal oxide nanoparticles affect antioxidant enzyme activity in a dose-dependent manner. She highlighted that nanoparticles of iron, zinc, and titanium oxides stimulate the activity of antioxidant enzymes in wheat seedlings at a concentration of 0.01 mM. In contrast, aluminum oxide nanoparticles were found to have a suppressive effect across all concentrations tested.
The event concluded with a Q&A session, where participants had their questions on the topic addressed.
