BSU Hosts Seminar on Document Flow Related to the Ethnography of Western Azerbaijan

A scientific seminar titled "Document Flow on the Ethnography of Western Azerbaijan" was held at the Faculty of Information and Document Management of Baku State University (BSU).

The seminar featured a presentation by Shamkhal Nurullayev, a master’s student in the Department of Document Management, who shared the findings of his research on the documentation and information sources related to the ethnography and history of Western Azerbaijan.

In his report, Nurullayev underscored the significance of ongoing discussions surrounding the return to Western Azerbaijan and highlighted the value of scholarly research in this area. The study examined a range of information sources, including those on the Irevan Khanate, tracing the historical development of these materials in chronological order.

The presentation included a comparative analysis of existing databases and online resources, emphasizing their importance for preserving and studying the historical and cultural heritage of Western Azerbaijan. Special attention was given to the "Western Azerbaijan. Electronic Library" project, initiated by the Presidential Library of the Presidential Affairs Department, and the "Our Ancient Homeland – Western Azerbaijan" database developed by the National Library of Azerbaijan.

The report concluded that such databases play a vital role in advancing research, promoting cultural heritage, and ensuring the systematic transfer of historical knowledge to future generations.

The seminar concluded with an engaging discussion among participants.
