BSU Hosts Seminar on the Fifth Industrial Revolution and Its Future Prospects
A scientific seminar titled “The Fifth Industrial Revolution: Current Status and Prospects” was held at the Nanoscience Laboratory of the Center for Excellence in Research, Development, and Innovation at Baku State University (BSU).
Orkhan Gulahmedov, a junior research fellow at the laboratory, delivered a presentation on the topic. He briefly reviewed the historical stages of industrial revolutions and provided detailed insights into the essence of the Fifth Industrial Revolution, highlighting technological trends and human-centred approaches. The presentation addressed issues such as the ethical use of artificial intelligence, collaborative robots (cobots), personalized production systems, green technologies, and the principles of social justice.
Gulahmedov also discussed Azerbaijan’s position in this process, covering the country’s digitalization strategy, the development of industrial parks, renewable energy projects, and measures being taken to enhance technological skills.
The seminar concluded with an analysis of the potential transition from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0 and an exchange of views on future priorities for technological and industrial research in Azerbaijan.
