BSU Hosts the III International Symposium on Information and Document Management "From Traditions to the Future"
The III International Symposium on Information and Document Management "From Traditions to the Future," on the theme "Information Management and Sustainable Development" and dedicated to the "Year of Solidarity for a Green World," has started at Baku State University. The symposium is jointly organized by Baku State University (BSU), Bartin University, Cankırı Karatekin University, and Kastamonu University of Türkiye.
BSU Vice-Rector Alish Agamirzayev, the co-chairman of the symposium from the Turkish side and Head of the Department of Information and Document Management at Bartin University Ahmet Altay, the Director of the National Library of Azerbaijan Kerim Tahirov, the Director of the Central Scientific Library of ANAS Huseyn Huseynov, the heads of the departments of information and document management at Kastamonu University, Çankırı Karatekin University, Atatürk University, and Istanbul University May 29 (Hasan Sajit Keseroğlu, Coşkun Polat, Dündar Alykılıç, and Berrin Balkaş Yılmaz), and the Dean of the Faculty of Information and Document Management of BSU Alamdar Bayramov made speeches at the opening ceremony.
At the plenary session of the symposium, Associate Professor of BSU Perviz Kazimi presented a report titled "The Concept of a Green Library," and Associate Professor of Kastamonu University Güler Demir presented a report titled "Sustainable Development and Green Libraries."
At the symposium, scientists and young researchers from 17 universities in Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan, as well as employees of Türkiye's Ministry of National Education and Ministry of Culture, several municipal libraries of Türkiye, and libraries and museums of Azerbaijan, will present approximately 60 reports.
