BSU Hosts Training on "Media Law and Human Rights"
As part of the "Year of Constitution and Sovereignty" and the 150th anniversary of the Azerbaijani national press, a training session on the topic "Media Law and Human Rights" was held at Baku State University (BSU).
The training was conducted by Shahin Mammadrzali, PhD in Law, lecturer at the UNESCO Department of Human Rights and Information Law, and Director of Baku Mediation Organization No. 1.
During the session, Dr. Mammadrzali provided participants with in-depth insights into information science, information flow, media terminology, media legislation, the scope of media entities, and human rights. He emphasized that the right to access and receive information is a fundamental component of human rights and offered commentary on relevant provisions in national legislation.
He also underlined the vital role of media representatives in consistently highlighting efforts to protect human rights and freedoms in Azerbaijan.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussion on the topic.
