BSU Hosts Training on Modern Academic Writing

Baku State University (BSU) organized a training program titled “A Modern View of the Academic Article” as part of events marking Science Day on March 27.

Opening the event, Farid Nagiyev, Director of the Center for Scientific Activity and Innovation, highlighted the importance of academic articles in presenting and communicating scientific knowledge to the international community. He noted that such trainings play a key role in developing students’ research and analytical skills.

Zakhrahanim Rahimova, Chair of the BSU Student Scientific Society, spoke about the Society’s activities for 2025–2026, emphasizing its role in engaging students and young researchers in scientific work.

During the training, lecturer Parvin Eyvazov discussed the theoretical and practical aspects of academic writing, including structure, terminology, scientific style, and proper citation. He also addressed the growing influence of artificial intelligence and stressed the importance of its ethical use in research.

A video presentation showcased the recent activities of the Student Scientific Society.

In a separate session, Aysel Alili focused on the role of English in academic writing, offering practical guidance on the use of formal academic language for effective participation in the global scientific community.
