BSU Hosts Training Session on “5 Traumas That Prevent Us from Being Ourselves”
The Psychological Assistance Sector of Baku State University (BSU) recently organized a training session for students on the topic, "5 Traumas That Prevent Us from Being Ourselves."
During the session, the center's psychologist, Natavan Hasanzade, explained that trauma is a response to an event or experience that significantly impacts a person's physical or psychological well-being, often accompanied by feelings of danger, fear, horror, or intense anxiety. She highlighted that trauma can stem from a single event or from prolonged stress and repeated negative experiences. Traumas that shape an individual's development and behavior often result from negative experiences in childhood or early life, and can influence their health, relationships, and self-confidence well into adulthood.
Hasanzade then provided insights into the different types of trauma and strategies for preventing them.
Throughout the session, students explored the effects of trauma on behavior, relationships, and overall health, and participated in psychological tests to better understand their own experiences.
