BSU Hosts Training titled "Autism: Silent Emotions, Limitless Possibilities"
A training session titled "Autism: Silent Emotions, Limitless Possibilities" was recently held at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology at Baku State University (BSU).
The primary goal of the training was to foster a correct understanding of autism among students, deepen their knowledge based on scientific principles, and teach effective communication strategies when interacting with individuals on the autism spectrum.
Lamiya Akhmedli-Shirinova, a doctoral student in the Department of Psychology, provided in-depth information about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). She covered topics including the causes of autism, early warning signs, developmental patterns, and available treatment methods. In addition, she discussed effective communication strategies for engaging with individuals with autism, addressing the challenges they face in social interactions, and proposing potential solutions to these difficulties. Akhmedli-Shirinova also highlighted common misconceptions about autism prevalent in society.
The session concluded with a Q&A segment, where students had the opportunity to ask questions and engage further on the topic.
