According to QS University Rankings: Emerging Europe and Central Asia (EECA) 2015/16 released by QS Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Baku State University was included in the top 100 rating again and took 83^rd place.

The following criteria have been chosen to reflect the aspects of the universities’ life, its priorities and activities: Academic reputation, Employer reputation, Faculty/student, International faculty, International students, Staff with PhD, Web impact, Papers per faculty, and Citations per paper.
