BSU Launches a New Master’s Specialization in Oil and Gas Field Geophysics
Starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, the Faculty of Geology at Baku State University (BSU) will, for the first time, offer a Master’s specialization in Oil and Gas Field Geophysics.
The program is designed to prepare highly qualified specialists in the exploration, development, and production of oil and gas fields through the application of modern geophysical methods and digital technologies. During the program, students will gain expertise in well geophysics, processing and interpretation of geophysical data, geological and geophysical modeling, hydrocarbon reserve estimation, as well as modern well logging technologies and software widely used in the oil and gas industry.
Graduates of the specialization will be qualified to pursue careers in oil and gas exploration and field development, hydrocarbon resource assessment, geophysical support of production operations, geophysical data processing and interpretation, as well as in research institutions and industrial organizations operating in the oil and gas sector.
