Baku State University (BSU) has announced a call for research project proposals under the University Research and Development Fund.

The competition aims to advance research activities at BSU, support the generation of new scientific knowledge, promote the practical application of research findings, and strengthen the research potential of young researchers.

The competition is being held in three categories:

1. Fundamental Research Projects

The funding allocation for this category is AZN 80,000 (eighty thousand). Up to five projects that meet the established evaluation criteria will be selected for funding based on the results of the competition.

2. Applied Research Projects

The funding allocation for this category is AZN 55,000 (fifty-five thousand). Up to five projects that meet the established evaluation criteria will be selected for funding.

3. Young Scientist and Researcher Projects

The funding allocation for this category is AZN 38,000 (thirty-eight thousand). Up to five projects that meet the established evaluation criteria will be selected for funding. The category is open to young scientists and researchers aged up to 35.

The evaluation of project proposals will focus on such key criteria as the significance of the research, scientific novelty, reliability of the research methodology, potential for scientific outcomes and publication, the research and analytical skills of project leaders and participants, project feasibility, and risk assessment.

The competition is open to BSU employees engaged in scientific and academic activities. Projects already receiving funding from other funds or institutions will not be eligible. Each applicant may participate in only one project within the competition.

Submitted proposals will be evaluated by experts in accordance with the established procedures, and successful projects will be selected based on the competition requirements.

Project proposals will be accepted in both electronic and written formats from September 30, 2026. The deadline for applications is October 12, 2026, at 18:00.
