BSU Launches New Master's Specialization in Bibliometric Technologies
Starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, the Faculty of Information and Document Management at Baku State University (BSU) will introduce a new master's specialization, "Bibliometric Technologies in Information Activities," within the Library and Information Science program.
The primary objective of the new specialization is to train highly qualified professionals equipped with modern knowledge and practical skills in scientific information analysis, enabling them to conduct bibliometric and scientometric analyses and contribute to research evaluation processes and the development of science policy.
The specialization will offer a range of contemporary courses, including "Theoretical Foundations of Bibliometrics," "Analysis of Scientometric Indicators," "International Scientific Information Systems and Databases (Scopus, Web of Science, etc.)," "Methods of Research Evaluation," "Scholarly Communication and Open Science," "Statistical Data Analysis and Visualization," "Digital Information Technologies," and other up-to-date subjects.
The introduction of this new specialization will make a significant contribution to the development of science and education in the country, strengthen Azerbaijan's scientific information infrastructure, and further enhance the country's integration into the international scientific community.
