BSU Launches Public Speaking Course

24/04/2026

A Public Speaking Course has been launched at the Faculty of Philology of Baku State University (BSU).

The course is led by Fatima Suleymanli, founder of the “FəalSöz” Academy, Azerbaijani language and literature lecturer, and public speaking trainer. She is teaching students skills of self-expression, confident and fluent speech techniques, as well as proper breathing methods.

During the sessions, students are engaged in both individual and group speaking exercises. They practice improvisation skills and receive personalized feedback and recommendations after each performance. Special exercises focusing on breathing and diction are conducted, while the effective use of voice tone, intonation, and pauses is analyzed through participants’ own speeches.

Throughout the program, students are expected to deepen their knowledge of public speaking, systematically overcome stage fear, improve self-confidence, and enhance their communication with audiences. At the end of the course, final presentations will be organized to showcase participants’ progress and achievements.
