As part of the Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty, an educational event was jointly organized by the Faculty of Law at Baku State University (BSU) and the Office of the Milli Majlis (MM).

Students were briefed on the procedures of MM plenary sessions, rules of procedure, and the voting mechanism, after which they toured the parliamentary meeting hall. They also visited the Heydar Aliyev Museum and the “Victory Corner” dedicated to the Patriotic War.

Farid Hajiyev, Head of the MM Office, met with the students, conveyed greetings on behalf of MM Chairperson Sahiba Gafarova, and provided information on the events held within the framework of the Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty. He delivered a presentation titled “National Leader Heydar Aliyev – Author of the Constitution of Independent Azerbaijan”, outlining the historical stages of constitutional development, the great leader’s role in strengthening statehood traditions, and the process of drafting the 1995 Constitution.

Dean of the Faculty of Law, Zaur Aliyev, emphasized that the participation of faculty members in the working group responsible for drafting the Constitution is a great honor for the faculty. He expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Milli Majlis for supporting the organization of this educational initiative and noted that President Ilham Aliyev successfully continues the political course of the national leader.

Law students also shared their impressions, noting that the visit provided valuable insights into the traditions of parliamentarism and enhanced their practical legal knowledge.

The event was attended by Esmer Aliyeva, Head of the Department of Civil Procedure and Commercial Law, along with other senior staff members of the Milli Majlis Office.
