BSU Lyceum Hosts Training on “Identity Crisis in Adolescence”
The “Young Talents” Lyceum at Baku State University (BSU) recently hosted a training session on “Identity Crisis in Adolescence.”
BSU’s psychological assistance sector psychologist, Vasif Bashirov, and Lyceum psychologist, Esmer Mehdiyeva, guided students through Erik Erikson’s stages of psychosocial development and their influence on individual life paths. They highlighted adolescence as a transformative period, typically spanning ages 12 to 18, during which physical, emotional, and social changes unfold. The psychologists emphasized that challenges such as stress, depression, and addictions may emerge during this time, and underscored the importance of support and guidance from both parents and teachers.
Following the presentation, the psychologists engaged with students in an open discussion, addressing the difficulties they face and exploring strategies for overcoming these challenges.
