BSU Lyceum Hosts Training Session on Biomedical Research
The Centre for Biomedical Research and Technologies at Baku State University (BSU), as part of its “INITIA: First Steps in Biomedical Research” programme, held a training session for students of the Young Talents Lyceum affiliated with the University. The session was titled “The Phenomenon of Molecular Proximity: Hidden Maps of Biomedical Science”.
The trainers – Fidan Maharramova, a student at Imperial College London (UK), and BSU students Medina Naghiyeva and Gunel Aliyeva – delivered presentations on their research activities and completed projects. Their presentations covered current scientific topics, including intercellular interactions in the tumour microenvironment, the phenomenon of molecular proximity, mutation prediction, and the “Micropia” project. The young researchers shared their scientific ideas, research approaches and practical experience with the lyceum students.
During the session, the trainers answered students’ questions and explained how biomedical science relates to everyday life, the study of diseases and the development of future medical technologies.
The main aim of the “INITIA” programme is to make science accessible from an early age, provide school students with young researchers as role models, and contribute to the development of the next generation of scientists.
