A presentation of the “TactoColor” project, developed by Samira Jafarli, a student of the “Young Talents” Lyceum at Baku State University (BSU), was held at the Lyceum. The project was implemented with the support of the organization SASMO.

Samira Jafarli shared that the idea for TactoColor emerged after she observed children with visual impairments who face challenges in recognizing colors. To address this issue, she created tactile coloring books and a set of pens that enable children to identify colors through touch. The project aims not only to familiarize children with colors but also to foster their creativity and emotional expression. Each color in the books is represented through unique textures and shapes that can be felt by hand.

During the presentation, children took part in an interactive, hands-on session where they tested the books and completed their coloring tasks.

In her remarks, Samira Jafarli emphasized that the main goal of the TactoColor project is to promote inclusive education and equal opportunities. According to her, the initiative helps children with visual impairments learn alongside their peers, engage in creative activities, and strengthen their self-confidence.
