BSU Marks Successful Graduation of Code For Future Project Participants
Baku State University (BSU) recently hosted another graduation ceremony for the Code For Future project.
In his speech, BSU Rector Elchin Babayev emphasized that the Code For Future project holds significant importance not only for the university but for the entire country. He highlighted that the primary goal of higher education institutions is to train personnel who meet the demands of the labor market. He noted that the project serves this purpose effectively and has been successfully implemented. He further added, “Following Code For Future, initiatives such as the DevEducation IT College and Codelandia at our university have opened new opportunities for our students. We thank the Ministry of Science and Education for their continued support of these initiatives.”
Shabnam Safarova, Adviser to the Rector of BSU, underscored that the Code For Future project, launched in 2021, plays a major role in enhancing students’ knowledge in the IT field. She noted that many graduates from previous cohorts are now contributing to the educational process as teachers in the program. The project’s success is demonstrated by the fact that over 90% of graduates have secured employment, a testament to its continuity and effectiveness. She further pointed out that in the face of the 6th industrial revolution and the growing influence of artificial intelligence, the IT sector has become a necessity, not just a requirement. “We look forward to seeing the graduates of the Code For Future project further contributing to BSU’s efforts to develop highly qualified personnel,” she added.
Tugrul Kapucuoğlu, a representative from Code Academy, expressed his pride in the project’s success. He noted that the international certifications awarded to the graduates of Code For Future, which has involved around 3,000 students from six universities across the country, are a clear indicator of the program’s impact. “We wish success to our graduates and the new students who will join the project in the future,” he said.
Elnur Guseinov, a graduate from a previous Code For Future cohort, shared his success story and encouraged participants to fully leverage the project’s offerings.
Asya Rustamova, a member of the Code For Future team, presented statistical data from a survey conducted by the National Observatory on the Labor Market and Social Protection Issues under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection. She highlighted that since its inception in 2021, 2,658 individuals have graduated from the project, including 515 BSU students and graduates. Furthermore, 150 students earned international certificates, a remarkable achievement.
The event also featured presentations of projects developed by students from BSU’s Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics, as well as SABAH groups, Izafa Tagieva and Ayla Atakishiyeva, who completed their training as part of the project.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates to BSU students who successfully completed the Code For Future program.
