BSU participated in an online seminar dedicated to World Information Day
An online seminar dedicated to World Information Day was held on the online platform of the Russian Language and Culture Center at the Al-Farabi National University of Kazakhstan.
The moderator of the online seminar was Arzu Mammadova, head of the Russian Center at Baku State University. At the seminar, A. Mammadova gave detailed information about the history of the Information Day.
Then Uzeyir Aliyev, chairman of the Azerbaijan Association of Graduates of Russian (Soviet) Universities, spoke about the importance of information in the fields of education, science, literature, and art. Nigar Agayeva, a lecturer at the Faculty of Journalism and an employee of the research laboratory, analyzed aspects of information acquisition, accuracy, and reliability.
The last speaker at the event was Janna Umatova, head of the Center for Russian Language and Culture at the Al-Farabi National University of Kazakhstan. He stressed that in addition to books, television, and radio, the Internet has a deeper impact on people's lives during the development of information technology.
The seminar was also attended by first-year students of the Faculty of Philology of Baku State University.
