Gasim Khalilov, Assistant to the Rector’s Secretariat at Baku State University (BSU), spoke at the panel discussion “Sustainable Development Goals: Joint Action to Achieve the Goals” held within the framework of the EcoMind 2025 conference, organized by the IDEA Public Association and the European Azerbaijan School.

The conference opened with remarks from Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Founder and Director of the IDEA Public Association. In her address, she emphasized the importance of young people’s active involvement in environmental initiatives and their responsibility for protecting nature, noting that fostering environmental values among schoolchildren is essential to building a green future for the country.

In his speech, Gasim Khalilov discussed the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into society and education, highlighting the contributions of Azerbaijani educational institutions, including BSU, to their implementation. He also spoke about the role of youth in achieving Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals, supporting his points with relevant statistical data and examples.
