A scientific and practical conference was jointly organized by the Faculty of Information and Document Management at Baku State University (BSU), the National Library of Azerbaijan (NLA), the National Library of the Presidential Administration of Türkiye, and the Information and Document Management Departments of Bartin University, Çankırı Karatekin University, Kastamonu University, and Istanbul 29 May University. The conference took place as part of the 61st "Library Week."

Ahmet Altay, Head of the Information and Document Management Department at Bartin University, moderated the event. He highlighted that the purpose of "Library Week," celebrated annually in Türkiye since 1964, is to increase awareness of library education, library and information services, and to drive better outcomes in these fields.

Alamdar Jabbarli, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Document Management at BSU, emphasized that since 2021, the faculty has been actively involved in organizing "Library Week" events. He noted the growing collaboration with universities and institutions in Turkey that specialize in library and information sciences, museum and archival studies, through joint masterclasses, lectures, and international conferences.

During the event, Kerim Tahirov, Director of the National Library of Azerbaijan, presented a report on the library’s activities. He highlighted the NLA’s crucial role in shaping librarianship in Azerbaijan, stating that the library not only implements state policy in the field but also promotes Azerbaijani culture and literature globally. The NLA is involved in book exchange programs with national libraries in 94 countries.
