An exhibition by People’s Artist Ashraf Heybatov titled “Azerbaijan – A Country in the Memory of Flowers” is being held at the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Vienna. The exhibition, dedicated to the artist’s 75th anniversary, was attended by Elchin Babayev, Rector of Baku State University (BSU).

At the opening ceremony, Leyla Gasimova, Director of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center, emphasized that the exhibited works skillfully combine national and cultural traditions with contemporary artistic expression. She noted that color, memory, and national identity constitute the main artistic concepts in Ashraf Heybatov’s творчество, and that his paintings portray Azerbaijan as a space of moral remembrance and cultural belonging. The landscapes and human images are presented through deep emotional and philosophical interpretation.

In his address, Ashraf Heybatov stated that themes related to Azerbaijan have always been central to his artistic work. He also highlighted his recent projects dedicated to the Turkic world. Exhibiting in Vienna for the second time, the artist expressed his gratitude to the organizers and participants for their support.

The event also included a meeting between BSU Rector Elchin Babayev and People’s Artist Ashraf Heybatov. During the meeting, the artist was invited to visit the university, and discussions were held on organizing creative meetings, exhibitions, and master classes, as well as expanding cooperation in the fields of art and cultural heritage. It was emphasized that such initiatives will contribute to the development of students’ aesthetic perspectives and the promotion of national and cultural values within the academic environment.
