On the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of the first class at the university, BSU Rector Elchin Babayev has delivered a lecture to the students of the Faculty of Physics.

Elchin Babayev shared information about the history of Baku State University. He noted that the decision on establishment of university in Baku was made on 01 September 1919 during the assembly of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic’s Parliament –  a new educational center, where Europe and Asia joined was created. The University started its 1^steducational year with two faculties – faculty of philology and medical faculty with 1094 students.

Then the rector gave a lecture on the physics of the Sun, its global parameters, internal structure, the main characteristics of its atmosphere.

The lecture was followed by a question and answer session.
